FAP’s prevention services are designed to reduce a person’s risk of acquiring HIV or other sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
From educating clients about medical interventions like Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis () and Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) to providing community presentations about HIV and STIs, our program strives to fulfill FAP’s Mission and Vision of a community with no new HIV infections. We offer services like HIV testing and counseling on site as well as outreach services to areas of the community that need them most, including off-site testing, counseling and community education.
Preventing the number of new HIV infections is critical as we work toward Ending the HIV Epidemic. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has launched Ending the HIV Epidemic: A Plan for America. The initiative aims to reduce new HIV infections in the U.S. by 90% by 2030.
